FASHION’S FIGHT AGAINST EBOLA

nc2

nc3Naomi Campbell is ready to tackle the ebola crisis with the help of the fashion industry. The supermodel’s Fashion For Relief foundation, which was founded in 2005 to aid relief for Hurricane Katrina victims, will stage two fashion shows to raise money for the cause. Fashion for Relief’s fight against ebola will kick off during New York Fashion Week in February 2015 and follow with a second show during London Fashion Week. Campbell opened up to Page Six about her fears surrounding the epidemic, “I’m scared, people don’t have a clear idea about what Ebola is.”

As a frequent traveller to Kenya, where the supermodel has a home and frequently works with orphanages, Naomi feels a close tie with the cause and hopes to educate others about ebola as well. In the past, Fashion for Relief has tapped some of fashion and Hollywood’s biggest names including Kate Moss, Beyonce, Jane Fonda, Karolina Kurkova and more in order to raise funds for disaster relief projects. While the show is still in early planning stages, the supermodel revealed she has some big surprises in mind to headline the charitable event.
